HP Laptop for parts - $75

I picked up a laptop last year that needed some work. Now it needs more work and I'm selling it cheap for parts. This is an HP Pavilion 4200 Laptop. It has a 1.7ghz CPU 512M Ram. The screen is in good shape, and I've ordered a new keyboard for it which is still in the box. He's the bad news. This series of laptop had a problem with the motherboard. The port where you plug in the power supply goes bad on these laptops relatively quickly. To fix this, you need to unsolder the old plug and re-solder a new plug which can be ordered from ebay. Intrex computers charges around $225for this operation. I'm cheap. I soldered two wires to the old plug and ran them directly to the power supply. It ran great for about 9 months and last week it died. I tried re-soldering the wires with no luck. I may have damaged the motherboard. I may have simply made some poor solder joints. Anyway, I'm selling the laptop for parts. Thanks.

I will also trade for ham radio gear, a PS2, or a 128M PCI-E video card.
