Health Informatics Advisor

The Health Informatics Advisor is responsible for developing, adapting, scaling and implementing core health information systems. Additional responsibilities include developing and documenting implementation standards and establishing methods to provide training to ensure sustainability of systems. The position will work closely with project teams and local stakeholders to define system requirements, create system implementation plans and build local and regional user groups around deployed health information system tools.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, software engineering, or related field; five or more years project management experience in an information technology field, especially management or coordination of software development projects; demonstrated knowledge of software development procedures and standards, including writing use cases, technical specifications, testing plans and documentation; demonstrated knowledge of data collection including collection processes and data quality management; and demonstrated knowledge of technology training practices for groups and individuals. Database and/or Web design experience strongly preferred. Experience working with Open Source technologies such as MySQL, PHP and Linux highly desired. Additional desired qualifications include willingness to learn new technologies, ability to think logically and solve problems, ability to pay attention to detail and bring tasks to completion, and ability to work collaboratively and cooperate with others. French language skills and willingness to travel are highly desirable.
