I'm a young writer, fresh out of undergrad, who has just moved back to the Triangle after four years in the frozen north (Ann Arbor, Michigan), and I want to write, edit, and/or proofread for you. Along with a Bachelor in General Studies and a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Tuba Performance (really), I have three years of experience working for a highly reputable college newspaper, The Michigan Daily, as a writer, a Magazine Editor, and an Arts Editor. I do news. I do features. I LOVE writing about music. I'll write about films, albums, concerts, art exhibits, book festivals, pie-eating contests, tractor pulls, city council meetings, websites, ANYTHING. I can properly punctuate a two-word adjective; I know how to use a semicolon. I'm well-versed in AP style, and I've got two years experience designing broadsheet and tabloid pages.

I've taken courses on proofreading, punctuation, grammar, literature, and sequential art. I'm well-versed in Adobe InDesign, Quark XPress, Photoshop, Pagemaker, Microsoft Office, and FlightCheck. I'm an avid reader of newspapers, alt-weeklies, fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, blogs, cereal boxes. I write program notes, and I can do PR. I love manipulating words, and I want to offer my services to you.

And like all writers, I love money. But the best thing about me is that I'm willing to work for experience, not cash (although getting paid is awesome, too). I want nothing more than to become a better writer through working in a variety of different subjects and styles, but I need your help to get there. If you hire me as a freelancer, an editor, a copywriter, or a page designer, you won't be disappointed. And if you can only offer me a great opportunity without financial compensation, you won't be disappointed, either.
