This position requires an individual to take a leadership role in assisting and developing advanced writing & editing for a web-based e-commerce marketplace platform. Candidate will writes medical articles, patient / consumer information, world topics, business development, politics, law, technology, science, travel, medications, education, etc that focuses on Health and similarities to WebMD & Yahoo Health. Grow our medical products business and assist the President / CEO thru strategic web based marketing position and developing a retail business locally.
Develop and implement eGeneralMedical.com news center by obtaining the following categories:
- Member Services
- Medical Information
- Health & Wellness
- Medical Tools
Member services may include newsletter / CDC alerts, Boards and events, knowledge base of information and find a physician or surgeon.
Medical Information may include diseases and conditions, check symptoms, medical library & dictionary, physician desk reference, drugs & herbs guide, clinical trials, new medications and research developments, Medicare Rx benefits, medical plans access and free coupons.
Health, Fitness and Wellness may include women, men, lifestyle, pregnancy, family, diet and nutrition.
Medical tools may include vitamin profile, body fat index, child vaccination records, pregnancy & ovulation calendar, etc.
Typing: 70 WPM

Medical industry knowledge preferred with typing skills >70 WPM. Candidate should have the ability and desire to quickly learn new languages and skills. Position will be focused on interface design and development in an ecommerce web base system. Works autonomously “self-starter” but is a team player and gets along with working peers regarding features, editing and database entry. Has an excellent verbal and written communication, grammar / telephone skills (customer service).
Assist marketing specialist, which involves production of a seasonal e-mail newsletter, that is sent out to our customers and also coming up with ways to enhance the company image and make us more visible in the medical community. Talk about ‘hot topics’ whether medical related or not so customers can find articles of interest, increase page per views and cross sell to related items for sale; to gain exposure. Adding / Editing new products and /or services with full title, item number, price, organized description and picture. Working with subcontractors and setting up and maintaining new e-commerce web site and large database uploads of medical content. Updating and maintaining the legal and copyright statements. Email notifications to customers regarding web editing errors, correcting grammar and misspellings. Answering the telephone as needed.
Internship and Co-op programs available.

- Individual must be knowledgeable with the latest XP operating system & Microsoft software applications such as Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, computer networking and internet skills. Computer skill testing will be held in our office.
- Weekend and night shift work expected.
- Three professional references and background check.
We are accepting internships and Co-op programs for employment at this time. Internships are for credit hours or to receive real job training for future employment with our company. Co-op programs are associated with any school that requires a minimum job hours for credentialing.
All positions start at a base wage depending on your experience until quarterly evaluations occur based on performance and productivity.
