Information and Referral Specialist-Couseling

Newpoint Management is submitting a bid for a Information and Referral Specialist on Seymour Johnson AFB and seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position in the event we are the successful awardee. This is a flexibale part time position, approximately 32 hours Mon-Fri between the hour of 7:30am-4:30pm.
Duties include: Greet and assess the needs of incoming clients/customers. Provide information to clients about local services and resources. Respond to routine telephone requests; refers calls and visitors/clients/customers to Community Readiness Technicians and Consultants. Develop and update quarterly events calendar based on programs and classes offered at the Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC). Maintain database schedules and register participants for all A&FRC classes and briefings. Schedule and maintain appointment calendars for eight A&FRC program activity areas: PFMP, AFAS, Relocation, Transition, Employment, Family Life, Volunteer Resources, Family Readiness, and Community Events. Must be familiar with the FIRST computer program.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, verbal and communication skills. Familiarity of computer programs Microsoft Office, Word, Excel required. Basic understanding of military protocol, support group organizations, understanding of family systems in a military setting, ability to communicate, and work effectively with diverse groups.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Human Resources Administration/Development- related field. A strong counseling background is preferred. Past proven experience working in an Air Force Family Support Center is highly desired. Must have practical knowledge of human resource programs, requirements and procedures. Must have basic understanding of Human Resources, and the ability to recognize military rank structure. Have knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Knowledge of automated and/or physical filing systems and procedures and the subject matter content of the materials being processed. Shall have knowledge of format and clerical procedures to arrange a variety of materials from different sources. Skill in typing and working with a variety of office equipment is required. Ability to locate, assemble and compose information for routine reports inquiries and non-technical correspondence.
Shall have prior work experience in an Air Force Airman and Family Readiness Center. Experience of a family separation due to deployment is highly desirable.
