Specific Responsibilities
Participate fully in the software development lifecycle, designing and developing software systems that further the business objectives of our industry leading customer under the leadership of the CTO and direct business units. The Software Engineer is expected to provide technical expertise and consistent quality of work in pursuit of goals set forth by the company in general, the CTO and direct business units. The engineer will be actively engaged in all major systems at our industry leading customer including but not limited to:
- Next generation systems currently under development in both .NET and Java.
- Operations automation systems and APIs
- Billing automation systems and APIs.
- Sales automation systems and APIs.
- Core architecture and APIs where appropriate and required.
Integration with the disparate systems of our industry leading customer, including billing, CRM, vendor and customer support systems, accounting, and others as required. Collaborate with other technical resources as well as business departments to understand, plan and develop new software. Provide off-hours support of systems in the event of a system failure. Utilize best practices and tools with regard to design and development standards and quality assurance. Contribute to product documentation as needed. Work directly with other team members on the Technology team to provide consistent well designed software solutions. Participate actively in improving internal processes with regard to systems and development initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 1-2+ Years development experience in object-oriented languages (C# and Java are heavily used and are preferred).
- 1-2+ years in scripting languages (Javascript, Python, Perl, etc.)
- 1-2+ years web development, including server-side technologies such as ASP.NET, JSP.
- Working knowledge of XML environments.
- Demonstrated cognition of the fundamental software design patterns in use in OO design and development.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervisory intervention in a highly volatile, rapidly changing corporate environment. Startup or high-growth corporate experience desirable.
- UML experience a very nice to have.
- The ability to jump in and learn new technologies rapidly and embrace change. If you need a lot of structure, this is not the role for you.
- Telecom industry experience preferred not required.
- Salesforce.com API integration / application experience
- Webservice development experience a plus
