RTI International is seeking a highly motivated database developer for a challenging position designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining multi-tiered enterprise data management and analysis systems. This is a new evergreen system and we have a strategic plan for continued development in response to our client’s needs. This position is perfect for a person who combines excellent database and programming skills with an innovative spirit and an interest in addressing client needs.

Responsibilities
• Lead project teams to design, develop, test, and maintain databases that support web-based data management and analysis systems and that include mapping components.
• Design new database components and develop stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Coordinate with software team to manage change requests and to convey new design changes.
• Deploy applications at RTI’s server facility and work with client IT departments on special deployment requirements including deployment on client facilities.
Qualifications
• 5 years experience in
o developing multi-tiered applications.
o designing and optimizing relational databases in Oracle
o developing and maintaining stored procedures, packages, views, and triggers using Oracle PL/SQL
• Understands complex relational database concepts. Analyzes functional, business applications and design specifications for functional activities.
• Excellent team building, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates should have experience with, or be interested in learning, one or more of the following:
• Applications development using Java or .NET
• Spatial data management using Oracle Spatial or GIS software tools such as ESRI ArcGIS, ESRI SDE and open source GIS products
Education
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with extensive coursework or experience in database management systems, object-oriented design and data structures
• Familiarity with environmental science and regulatory programs is a plus.
