A group of collegues and I just went to La Rancherita for lunch. Service was poor and very slow. One person ordered the chicken quesidilla without chicken. She asked for a small side of quacamole. The server brought a large bowl with chips. Her bill came charging her $3.25 for the guacamole and the ques. was the same price as is she had chicken in it. We talked to the manager and basically he said too bad. None of us will eat there again. El Rodeo is much better!
La Rancherita is a great Mexican restaurant, with typical Mexican food. Me and my girlfriend have been there many times for lunch; it's gotten to the point where they don't even have to ask us our drink orders, they just bring us what we want. Their food is very good and freshly cooked, and their service is friendly and quick. Most of their food is pretty cheap, too.
Their free salsa is very good and just the right amount of spiciness.
Love this place - they need to have one in Durham tho. The salsa is great - I usually skip the salsa and just get guacamole in Mexican restaurants, but their salsa is wonderful. Have had the sincronizada and the chiliquiles, both without meat and both were really good.
