It's a good location with good movies. The service is great, especially the understanding manager. The only downsides are that there is bad insulation between movies, so you can hear the other films, and the seats are not elevated, so don't sit behind tall people. Other than that it's very good and cheap, but if you look like a student, act like a student, and are a student, you don't get a discount unless you have an ID...very inconvenient. Timberlyne is a good theater, especially for the price, just don't take any food in because the staff is monitoring it now. (The best thing is that across the street in the Shopping Center is ORANGE LEAF, a delicious frozen yogurt place that is SUPER cheap, clean, and DELICIOUS!!!)
Timberlyne is our favorite venue for studio films. (Unfortunately, they don't book small independent, foreign or documentary films.) The only drawback is the poor insulation between theaters. Otherwise, the theaters are spacious, sight lines are superb wherever you prefer to sit, and it is easy to leave and return for a bathroom break or refreshment refill. The Manager is outstanding. She is nearly always visible and helping -- taking tickets, serving popcorn, checking sound and temperature, cleaning up between screenings, etc. She is responsive to any concern that a patron may raise. Moviegoing crowds are managed very efficiently. The bathrooms are always clean, and the attendants are friendly and courteous. Timberlyne is also the only triangle theater that will prepare unsalted popcorn on request, which is a huge bonus and major draw.
The walls are paper thin, so the quiet parts of the movie I was watched was ruined by intense pounding sound effects from the movies on either side.
The screens are small and dirty, so if you're there to see a movie because of the beautiful cinematography, you'll be distracted by the filth instead of the movie scenes.
The image on the screens is also warped, so the focus changes depending on the part of the screen.
After being used to the Lumina, the only reason we drove over here was to see a movie that wasn't playing at the Lumina, and we were sorely disappointed.
I Think This Movie Theather Is Very Bad. O.K. Bye Love Ya
I've seen two films at this theater. While it was generally adequate, there is very little sound insulation between the rooms: just curtains over cinderblock walls. So if you're next to an action film, you'll definitely be hearing explosions and gunfire. The screen was also dirty the second time I went, which was visible in light frames.
I loved Timberlyne's service. They weren't expensive at all. I would come back again.
All I have to say is the manage of the move theater is this really unattractive, curly long-haired older lady who doesn't seem to care how her employees act to the customers. It's definitely not the place to go for customer service. It's like being in Junior high, again!
