I love the Howell Theater, mostly its the price and the staff, then the movies. Yes, the movies have been to town before, at three times the price. How can you beat that? The seats are good, the movies are not that old, the theater is, and everyone knows how the old single screen theaters are when they set up four or more screens; sometimes its a little odd. The Howell folks have done this task well, even the balcony theaters are pretty good, downstairs, its great.
The staff are the friendliest in town and will talk with you about the movies they have seen, even the ones currently in the theater. Of course, they love movies. So do I. The talks are good, the popcorn fresh and refills are discounted, drinks, too.
Even thought there is street parking, there are usually parking spaces close by and a city parking lot (no charge) is across the intersection. A good restaurant across the street rounds out a good night or late afternoon at the movies. Try the Howell, its a great older theater with a good staff, reasonable prices and fairly recent movies.

Generations of good times have been had at this family friendly theater. I prayed it would last the onslaught of super theathers that has been popping up in NC and Praise the Lord it has......My family and I enjoy our outins to the Hpwell every time we go.....which is often.
My husband and I see movies here a lot. The price is right, the seats are comfortable, the employees are nice, and I hope they stay in business for a long, long time!
I love this theater. Takes you back to when you were a kid. Very clean, great price for snacks and only $2.00 for the movie. You can't beat that.

A Great Old School Movie Theatre! The movie admission prices are only $2!
The only catch is that the movies come in about three weeks later than at the full price theatres. But I don't mind waiting so it's great for me.

I've been coming to this theater every since I was a little gorl and the price was 25 cents. Time has made many changes but the fun I have at the Howell is still the same. I enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the confortable seating and they still have great prices. Me and my family and friends often go to the Howell for our girls night out. We always look forward to our trips to the Howell.
