I was at the Grand opening with my wife and two young kids when Palace Point first opened. I thought a place like this was long over due. It was shiney and new and well staffed. I did not think it would be able to last. And yet, so many years later, Palace Point is still a great venue - it is clean, well staffed, friendly and a nice place to take friends and family for a night out. The theater is worth the short drive from Durham - it's never too crowded, the food is fresh and it seems to me to be a better deal than most other theaters in the Triangle. Movies are for escape and The Palace Theater is a great place to do just that.
This is the cleanest theatre I've been to in a while. Stadium seating, freshly popped popcorn (not pre-popped like the chain theatres), friendly staff, easy to find, if you're out of town (like me). After the movie, we went bowling (inside the same place) and had a blast.
