They just opened a few days ago, so right now the service is spectacular! Great guilty pleasures that Sonic is famous for and carhops on roller skates. My favorite thing is the foot long coney dog with a cherry limeade-- yes, a GUILTY pleasure, but YUM.
One slight drawback on this location is that it's in a crowded parking lot at the Harris Teeter. The Sonic lot itself is fine, but entering and leaving the Sonic lot is a little dicey-- the regular Harris Teeter traffic is not sure how to deal with the new patterns yet. So take it a little slow into the parking lot-- it will be worth it.
If you like fast food and the '50s, this is the place to go. As far as I know, it's the only drive-in fast food restaurant. You drive into a parking spot, and scan the menu right next to you. You order into it, and before long, a girl on roller skates will skate up to your car with your food.
We went on the Grand Opening, so they had balloons festooning the building, and a Sonic cup mascot walking around waving to people. It was funny to see some of the roller skaters going really slow and carefully since they were new to it.
If you go, get the cherry limeade. Es muy sabrosa.
I went to sonic for the first time with my wife and two teenage daughters who have been there about five times already. The Chicken was good but the burger kept repeating on my wife and the tater tots were very salty. The onoin rings batter around the onion tasted funny it was a sweet dough that they use but we didnt like it. First time for me and my wife is the last and my kids agree things were too salty. They might go back i don't know.
