The Brewery rocks! The place is a legend in NC, and very well-known around the country as a great place to see an up-and-coming band.
The club isn't dirty (like another reviewer said). Don't let the graffiti on the walls make you think the place isn't clean. This is a rock club - the way it should be!
The sound is the best around, the staff is nice (and funny), the beer is cold, the bartenders are hot, and the music is diverse. You can go one night and hear metal, the next night and hear hip hop, the next night and hear rock, the next night and hear pop... I suggest checking the schedule on the web site.
Everyone from Jane's Addiciton and Black Flag to Panic at the Disco and Cartel have played The Brewery since 1983. You never know when the band you see on stage is going to be on MTV in a year.
I highly suggest going to The Brewery. It is an old building, so don't expect to be impressed with the aesthetics or the decor. Expect a kick-ass show at one of the best live music venues in the country.
Hello, can we say disgusting?!?
Good, cause that's what I wanted to say.
The place is a sticky, gross mess. If you're ever sitting in the bar area (the one with the stools and 3 tables!!!) if you look up, you can see what is going to land in your drink from the ceiling fan. And it's not pretty by a long shot. The bathrooms are horrible even in the light of day.
Far too little seating, and too much gross-ness.
I'll put down wheelchair accessible, but if you are in a wheelchair, don't stay too long, cause the bathrooms will not accommodate you. And, if you're claustrophobic, don't bother going.
I go to The Brewery quite a bit. I KNOW the place isn't disgusting. But, let's be honest, this isn't the place to go if you're a snob. It's a rock club. There's no attitude from the staff, the bands, or most of the customers. There isn't a lot of seating. Chairs and tables just get in the way of a crowd there to see a rock show. There are stools and a couple of tables, but The Brewery is a 300-capacity standing-room music venue. No frills. Just music.
