I've been buying car stereo equipment for years and I've never had a better experience than doing business with Josh and the customer-friendly crew at Radio-Active. Josh is knowledgeable and really helpful without being pushy. Other dealers want to sell you whatever gives them the best mark-up and then get you out the door. At Radio-Active Josh took the time to get to know my needs, preferences and budget, then put together a system that sounded great and could easily be upgraded over time. The installation was professional, clean and really fast. And the service after the sale is the best I've ever found. You won't find a better place for your car stereo needs anywhere.

Excellent service and work. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and responsive. You can get some great systems installed for your car there so I recommend that anyone who wants to upgrade his or her car audio go and talk with them.

Horrible service. TWO instances. I went to return an unopened sealed plastic packaged item I had purchased from there. The manager literally word for word told me "you are S.O.L. (shit out of luck) because they do not give returns. I told him his policy was deceiving since they do not have their unusual return policy blatantly visible to the customer. He then tries to belittle me further by saying he'll give me a return but he doesnt have to do a thing! WOW customer service member of the year. Just a few days earlier the manager argued with my friend because my friend said he would try and find an item cheaper at another store before committing to buy at Radio Unactiv. WOW again. I should have expected the horrible service the next time. Good thing that package was the ONLY and LAST item I buy from that business. Sheesh I get better customer service at Best Buy and they have crappy selection.

HORRIBLE customer service. The owner of the store is completely ignorant and does not believe in proper customer support. I had some back speakers installed in my vehicle. I thought install went well. I was not told any different. A couple weeks later I go to inspect speakers and find they were DUCT-TAPED around the sides to create a seal instead of using proper sized speakers and I was NOT told about this. i go to complain about the install and the owner defends the install and said he did not feel need to tell me their use of DUCT TAPE. Then he argued with me when I said I will look for a lower price on a stereo he was trying to sell me. Horrible service, horrible ideaologies, horrible period. Don't waste your HARD earned money at this establishment.

Someone took my car joy riding and wrecked it while it was stored at RadioActive of Garner.

A couple months ago I took my car Radio Active Car Audio to have a iPod controller installed. I had to bring the car in early and leave it over the weekend. I was impressed with the installation and the friendly staff. They truly did a beautiful job on the install. BUT when I drove my car off the lot I noticed the trip computer said the car was getting 9 MPG and when I had dropped the car off it said 27 MPG. I've never seen the gas mileage rating this low and the only way to get the average this low would be to floor the accelerator at every traffic light for some time. When I stopped to fill up with gas the same day I noticed the passenger rear panel behind the wheel was popped out of place as though it had been banged from beneath. I looked up under the panel and sure enough there were scrapes and fresh gravel embedded in the plastic.

I called the manager Cengiz Gilas the next day and explained that someone had been joyriding in my car while it was stored at his shop. He told me right away that nobody had driven the car. I explained that I was able to get the panel back in place with a screwdriver and I wasn't looking for any compensation from him but that he needed to know that someone DID drive my car hard and ran off of a curb or something. He then told me "I appreciate you giving me that information".

One month later I had to have my car towed because I suddenly had terrible grinding metal noise coming from the passenger side of the car. I received a call from a technician at the Saab service department who told me "You've wrecked this car. You ran off of something and tore all of the fender skirt to shreds. I can see damage and scrapes from the front all the way to the back". I said "No, I've never run off of anything. I'm sure of it". Then I remembered the previous damage that occured at RadioActive. He went on to say that the fender skirt would have to be replaced, the front wheels were severely out of alignment and the rear passenger rim was bent and would need replacement (otherwise it would wear the tires and brakes unevenly and could never be rotated to the front).

So the total cost to me (see uploaded receipts from repairs) is:
$177 fender repair
$125 realignment of wheels
$210 replace rear rim
----------
$512

Bottom line: Radio Active and Cengiz did great work and even worked with me on several visits to get the iPod controller to work properly (though to this day is still doesn't charge the iPod) but I would never recommend them due to the damage done to my car.

This is ridiculous! This is the only car audio store I have been to in my ENTIRE life that I can honestly say I trust not to rip me off. They do honest work and warranty their jobs. I am 100% satisfied with their customer service and willingness to help and answer any questions I have had concerning my stereo. It is very hard to find a place these days that does not just want to make a sale, they want to keep you as a customer and they do whatever it takes to do so.

@ekel, What is ridiculous about what I wrote? I agree that they are very knowledgeable and I gave them credit for that but the fact remains: someone went joy riding in my car, wrecked it, and I had to foot the bills.

In fact I just now got around to replacing the bent rear rim. Cost me $250 and I had to replace both back tires at a cost of $400 as they were wearing irregularly and making terrible noise.

Update: I ended up spending another $100 to have the device removed after spending another $200 replacing the battery two years in a row. Seems they wired it such that it was always drawing power which ruined two batteries.

Grand total for this debacle is now $1,740
