Total bunch of wannabe hogwash. Supposedly 'member only' but there's no membership information on your website. Oooo..you must be REALLY kewl man roflmao!!! Hanging a skateboard and playing music so frigging loud no one can hear themselves think does NOT make you 'cool'.
the place allows guys to be jumped and then girls being hit by guys in the face.. it happened last night, her face is so bruised from the hit.. he hit her on purpose and then was allowed to stay in the bar because he dated the bartender.. the bartender laughed at the entire situation.. no class and it makes no sense to allow such behaivor.. escpecially being 25 and up.. i will continue to spread the word about this place.. 0 stars.. trash
I really would like to give brooklyn heights a raving review. Unfortunately I cannot because the last three times I've visited I have been served a drink and had to leave immediately. One of my friends was not served because the bar was now "25 and up." I am a 23 year old young professional who lives off Glenwood South, and during the summer I went to Brooklyn Heights all the time and enjoyed the live music on Saturday nights. I find it difficult to understand their criteria for turning away a faithful customer. How was the "25 and up" decision made? Well I was told when asking an employee at Brooklyn Heights that it was due to the behavior of a select few misgriants from a school right down Hillsborough Street. From the customers point of view it is difficult to determine their criteria; because, many people who arent "25," like myself, have been granted admission, but others have been turned away.
people under 25 should be kept out of some bars- it lets the older crowd have some place to go without being annoyed by obnoxious young people- really, you can go to any bar in Raleigh aside from this one, quit your complaining and find a new spot.
An unassuming little establishment on Raleigh's Glenwood strip where the patrons are quite young and friendly. Drink prices are on par with the rest of the area but service is slow, and there are no waitresses. There is a small porch out front which provides one the opportunity of viewing activities on Glenwood Avenue. The first time I was there, a soloist was performing at volume levels that were way too loud for the size of the bar. On my second time, a dj was spinning vinyl, again way too loud. Since there is no dance floor, the purpose of the dj is a mystery to me, other than to provide so much noise so that patrons have to yell at their friends in order to be heard. As one of the few bars without a cover charge, I would go back there.
love this place! was there the week they opened and cannot stop going back. chill but upbeat bar. great decor and tunes and love love love the the patio and outdoor seating. awesome owner and bartenders as well as teh drinks!!! :)
Great atmosphere and music
This place has the potential for greatness . . but is not there yet. I have been here twice in the past month and both times felt like I was in "how to run a bar" rehearsal night. Both visits the bar was out of several drinks that I asked for (all on the menu), glasses were dirty and the bar staff was still setting up for the evening several hours after opening. Also, there is no food. There were some good things. . .the bar staff was very friendly and the work done on the inside is amazing. Hopefully they can work out their issues soon . . . I'll give it another try in a few weeks.
What a surprise!!! I took a date to this "little house" for a drink after dinner. I was amazed by what I saw when I opened the door. The interior is gorgeous and the bathrooms are the cleanest / preattiest in town. It was the perfect place to have a cocktail after dinner. The lighting was romantic, and the atmosphere seemed really relaxed. I am really impressed amd would recommend it to everybody.
