It's ok. The desert is really great!
I not come back to eat here. The management and other employees are rude continually. And they do not clean up the restaurant eating area not much. For what I have seen. The menu is limited offerings. I go to other places and get better service, menu offerings, employees are nicer than the people who work here, and cleaner. They clean it up better here. Many other restaurants in the city and area. And offer alot more.
I think Zest Cafe is the best place in the city to eat. It is not just because my mom works there it is also because the staff is so nice and the food is awesome. The best thing is everything it is all very good resturant and i looooove it.
We used to be regular customers here. The food is priced high, but we thought we were getting good value. Then we started to see some inconsistency, and had to send back some food once because it was overcooked. Everything was ok with that (no apologies, though) however today we had lunch and had to send back a turkey burger that was burnt. The manager came back and told us that he would not re-make it - it was cooked the way it was supposed to be and in fact, we could order anything else on the menu but we were not allowed to get another turkey burger! He did not even apologize for the burnt food nor did he engage us in discussion or ask us what he could do to make things better. Bottom line, he is a tactless individual who should not be in a service industry. Buyer beware - if you have problems here, don't expect any of the kind of customer service you should expect from a high-priced bistro - you won't get it. We walked out and won't be back.
Yeah I love Zest too. The awesome quesadilla is my favorite, the nicoise salad is really good and healthy too boot. They used to have some tasty salmon tacos but I haven't seen it on the menu in a while. Bring 'em back!
This is my favorite lunch spot in Raleigh. I recommend the brie and mango chutney sandwich as well as their coconut cake. I also like that they serve diet dr. pepper here. They DO NOT serve sweet tea, just unsweetened and raspberry tea. Leave time for a visit to the attached home goods store...there are lots of cute gifts for the home! On nice days, enjoy their outside dining.
Note that they are closed on Mondays and their sunday menu is different (brunch). Also, they typically do not seat you until everyone in your party has arrived.
I just found out that their dinner menu is also different...I didn't like it as much. Definitely go for lunch.
