This is the best BBQ restaurant around - and oh yes, like their motto says "It's going to get messy". I used to think that Famous Daves was the place for BBQ, but not anymore. Shane's has the "Best Ribs in Town"! Whenever my parents drive (or train - Amtrak) in from Philly, the first question is, "So when are we going to Shane's" and my reply is any or everyday that you are here if you'd like. Although the ribs are tenderly-delicious (and they are my father's favorite), I tend to gravitate towards the salads. Being a lover of warm salads (warm meat with crispy, cool greens), I love the bbq salad. It comes with the sweetest bbq sauce you've ever tasted and you can get another type of dressing (ranch, etc.) on the side to combine the two. Me, I just tend to pile extra bbq sauce on top and get ready for the ride of my life. It's like the big "O" of the taste buds. My mother, daughter and son tend to go for the wings which are just as good - oh yes, I've had my share of them as well. Let's just say, if you are a big lover of bbq then I am sure you will fall in love with Shane's. Just remember to bring a big appetite and get ready to fall in love.
NOTE: The sweet tea is to die for - and they've got really nice sized, juicy lemon wedges (the kind you can wrap your fingers around and squeeze) if you're like me and want more than a just a faint hint of lemon with your tea.
