My husband and I decided to go out on a limb and eat here for our anniversary, instead of going to one of our 'tried and true' places. We were both delighted with the food--it was actually one of the best meals I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Their guacamole (which I had for an appetizer) was great, and we both had different versions of margaritas which were fantastic--especially my husband's which was a red pepper margarita--sounds weird but it was really good and not too sweet. I had some kind of mexican barbeque (slow cooked beef on the bone) that was so tender and flavorful...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. My husband had one of the specials...a 'meat platter' as we later dubbed it--because it was a bunch of different meats on a plate, cooked in spices--very simple but tasty. The service was pretty good--the waitress started out great and took some time to explain all the different tequilas on the menu, but then later, she kind of got a little slack, but we were there VERY late (we didn't sit down to eat until 10:00 PM) and I think she was trying to get out of there. All in all, a very good experience and we will definitely go there again.

I visited Jibarra two Saturday's ago to celebrate my birthday with a group of my friends. Our server was fine, but our food was terrible! The food was fantastic the first time I went there in November, but this time it was very bad. Everyone at my table hated their dish. I love spicy food, but our dishes were so hot that we couldn't taste any other flavors. We had to douce everything in sour cream in order to be able to eat it. Thank goodness I had the delicious french fries to eat.

I went for a birthday. The service was slow!!!!! The food was cold and they messed up our order. When I complained to the manager she argued with me about the food being cold and the poor service ! I was amazed, shocked and horrified. I would never argue just heat up the damn food ! I will never go here again ! I sent an email to the owner to complain and they /he/she whomever never responded ! If you are going to a "classy" establishment and pay pricey for a meal you should have total class not ghetto trash operating and being rude to customers.

My husband I dined at this establishment Saturday night. Service was poor - can you say Slow, Slow, Slow. Table was dirty and cleaned while we were seated. The crumbs and water flew everywhere. We ordered 4 combo appetizer. The food was extremely bland. Little taste at all - not hot, not spicy, not anything. Too bad.

The location in Downtown Raleigh is among the most unique in the area! It is located behind the Ess Lounge in the Historic Raleigh Depot bldg...
As soon as you walk through the door you can't miss the star attraction.."The Tequila Tower" which seperates the dining and lounge areas! The tower houses a collection of tequila from a variety of families from Jalisco, Mexico. Jibarra's has a nice list of specialty cocktails, as well as, Tequila flights (3 small tastings from a list of over 40 bottles) not to mention an amazing variety of Chilean and Spanish wines.
Jibarra offers an eclectic dining or lounge experience while still maintaining a casual feel. The food is driven by an authentic take on mexican cuisine originating throughout Mexico, and is a must visit for those who live in Raleigh or just visiting.

My husband and I dined here on Saturday night. Service was poor (slow, slow, slow). Table was dirty and was actually wiped down while we were seated. Crumbs and water flew everywhere. We ordered the 4 combo appetizer. The food could not have been more bland. I really hated that the experience was so poor, but it really was.
