This independent fellowship of believers is one of the most consistent, caring, and energetic churches you'll find. I have been involved with Christian churches my entire life, and this one is, by far, the one closest to being a "New Testament" church that I've found. We've been attending for about 18 months, and have been taught, challenged, and encouraged. We are not only given opportunity to engage in service (helping with local homeless shelters, work with schools, food distribution, etc.), but are given the tools and a positive environment for doing it. These people are not interested in getting another notch in their Bible for preaching and converting. They (we) want to make a visible difference in this world, to influence others to see that the love of Jesus is real.
If your idea of living the Christian life is singing hymns and wearing your "Sunday best", don't bother. But if you want to meet Jesus in the marketplace, help those who are the poor and downtrodden of this world (be they in Raleigh, Haiti, or the Central African Republic), and learn how to love sacrificially, come join us.

This tsmyther says that this is an indpendent fellowship. Just to let you know it is a Grace Brethren Church and they don't advertise it. It is so funny that a church hides and lies like they do

Oh come on now. You're sounding awfully judgemental yourself. I think Hope is the best church on the planet. I pray that you can resolve your issues with whoever hurt your feelings over there, and that you can find the peace that Hope cultivates within its community.

You keep praying I have no hurt feelings. I went to that church from the time it was 30 people to 1,000 people and let me tell you I wouldn't want to be in the pastor's shoes when he gets to heaven

They preach and teach right out of the Bible. Many don't like to hear what the Bible says or what Jesus says because it is pretty black and white. "You are either for me or against me." There is no fence sitting! One of 2 of the very best churches I have ever attended. If I'm in the area that is where I attend.

Like I stated in my comment. Each church body is different. Does not make one better than the other. Learning about Jesus and helping others is not a competitive sport. The folks at Hope are friendly and willing to allow anyone to join in and participate at their own level. Great experience once I accepted the music and learned to appreciate the talented musicians and singers.

Although we started as Grace Brethren Church, we have since witdrawn. The GBF was never a denomination, but a fellowship of autonomous churches. Sorry for the confusion. easily cleared up if you asked.

mike I. - The Fellowship of Grace Brethren Church is a denomination with a very conservative Covenant and Statement of Faith. We are sorry and disapointed that the Hope church decided to leave the denomination.
