I gave this place a try after years of driving by it and it was pretty good. I had a ham biscuit and the ham was definitely of high quality and while the biscuit was certainly homemade, it was not what I would call the best in the area. I'm all for the independent restaurant but this biscuit was doughy, and soggy in the middle.
The champ of the made from scratch biscuit in Raleigh is still Biscuitville.
I will be returning to Mema's though. Love the atmosphere and I there is plenty more made from scratch goodness on the menu I need to try.
Be sure to bring cash as cards aren't accepted.
P.S. Mema: you should consider going back to the Biscuit Station name. You had some serious brand recognition there and nobody calls it Mema's. Plus you have that cool old sign out front!
Great Food all around! Breakfast is delicious and lunch is definitely worth your while! They have homemade biscuits and made to order breakfast plates. The hotdog chilli and chicken salad are exceptional.
