The cheesesteaks are great! I use to go to Steak Escape at Crossroads but these are so much better. More steak and much better bread. It is very hard to find good cheesesteaks and hoagies in this area and its wonderful I've found something really good, in fact, I'm going there NOW.
Thanks Anvils.
I eat here at least twice a week - the steak sandwiches are great!
Great Cheesesteaks...The real thing. I am always on the hunt for a good cheesesteak and I found it at Anvils. Fresh everything, healthy portions, friendly family run business. Highly Recommended. I'm hunting no more!
Absolutely terrfic! Wonderful, authentic Phillys from very pleasant & personable husband/wife owners. My wife adores the standard cheese steak sandwich. I happen to love the Steak Supreme with a mixture of sweet and hot peppers.
By the way: For those of you that love hot peppers be aware that they aren't kidding when they say "Hot!". No wimpy stuff here!
We have tried several of the sandwiches on the menu and have never been disappointed. Thank goodness we finally have a great place to get a Philly in our neck o' the woods!
My husband and I have traveled from the Philadelphia area and this is the first stop we made to get a bite to eat and we were very surprise on how excellent the cheese steaks were because you usally don't find good Phila. cheesesteaks out of our area. The restaurant was decorated with all things Phila it was great you sure get the feeling you could be in Phialadephia. Since coming home we sure miss the cheesteaks from Anvils we did have friends bring some home and they were also great after the long ride home just heated them up and it was like we were eating them there.
Our family has had everything on the menu, and it's all wonderful!
The atmosphere is inviting, as are the owners, and the sandwich's are unlike any you'll find in all of Raleigh. The bread is fresh from a nearby bakery, and arguably the most important feature of any sandwich,IMHO. I'm partial to the Chicken Sub with oregano, but my boys always order the Steak Supreme. I have vegetarian friends who visited Anvil's and said the Portabello sandwich was delicious.
Great to have a place to grab dinner on the way home that will please all 5 of us! THAT doesn't happen very often!
