We went here after being told it was good southern cooking, well its not. The food wasn't horrible but it surely wasn't great. The barbecue is ok, once again not great. I guess anyone not from the south would say this is a great place to get good southern cooking. If you are from the south, don't waste your time.
Ole Time is the BOMB! We eat there a lot. It reminds me of my childhood and embodies what southern cooking is SUPPOSED to be. The best sweet tea on the planet. Their veggie plate is a tasty alternative if you don't want their delicious BBQ or Fried Chicken, the Chicken Pastry is awesome too. You can also even have it delivered by ordering thru RaleighTakeOut.com ! Love it!!!
This is not a good place to eat at all if you are looking for good bbq and fried chicken. I don't know what else is on the menu, but I do remember that I could have gotten comparable chicken at convenience store, cooked in a microwave. The bbq was decent, not as good as the price would lead you to believe it to be thought.
We used to like to go there and eat some good simple southern barbecue. But the last ime we went was a horror, the waitress was behind the counter smoking with one of the cooks, she picked up my tea glass to refill it by putting her fingers INSIDE the glass. BIG health department No No's, maybe they know someone? Needless to say we won't return nor will be able to recommend it to anyone we like.
