Good stuff. Fantastic, loved the atmosphere.
The pizza at the Mellow Mushroom is nothing to write home about. Yes, the destination is favored by yuppies, but it is nothing special. The restaurant is always crowded and the pizza was dry. The servers are not unfriendly,but the customer service was not spectacular. Supposedly it's cool place to be... by why eat out if the pizza isn't good? The dining area inside has low lighting and the wait takes forever. You are honestly better off ordering from Papa John's if you like pizza.
I frequent Mello every weekend I get. It's funny that my best friend has actually transformed me into believeing that Mello Mushroom IS "THE BEST" pizza anywhere. What I love about it is the atmosphere, which is so casual, the staff are friendly and so interesting, the place is like a fun house in the middle of a busy street. But hey, if you have the corner lot, wouldn't you try to impress the competitions around you? Mello Mushroom is the "hip" place to be, especially if you are not the hip person in town. Even my friends and family and their friends and families go to Mello for their great pizza. The salads are also fantastic...love their Mandarin Chicken Salad (and whoever prepares mine all the time, love the way you garnish and prepare it). If you're going to try salad dressings, try their Esperanza dressing...it is the best kept secret they've got...although their pizza sauce is their best kept secret. I've been to another Mello Mushroom when I was travelling, and it's nothing compared to the one here on PEACE Street. Like I said, the staff is great and what makes the food and place great, is to have people that work with dedication and a smile. Great service, great place.....BESTEST pizza in all over the South Eastern seaboard. And for notsleepy..."shove it buddy..and go to sleep".
There are two great things about Mellow Mushroom: the outdoor seating and Sierra Nevada on draft. The food isn't anything special, but the first two things are so great, that the food doesn't even matter that much. They're also friendly to kids, which is a good thing, but it also means that if you get there before 7, there will be lots of them. It's a popular place, so be prepared to wait, but it's not usually too long.
Awesome pizza and i love the 'build your own salad option' they now have. The BBQ'd tofu is the BOMB! Did you know u can also get it delivered by using RaleighTakeOut.com ! ? So cool!
is everyone forgetting the fact they probably hide psilocybe shrooms under the cheese. "mellow mushroom" thats awesome. plus thier food kicks some serious ass to.

i love it my brother works there so i get alot of the take home pizza and it is soo gud ate cold
Great pizza. If you don't mind the wait. But first, you have to find parking. What a joy. It's not that they don't have their own lot, because they do, but at lunch it's RIDICULOUSLY crowded. So, I will go and call ahead an order and park in the 15 minute spaces to pick up. It's much easier than trying to hassle my way through their much-too-small lot, and then be ignored by wait staff.
But, the pizza is worth the agony, if you must dine-in. It's absolutely delish!
