First time here, Saturday May 5th. What a great meal and a fantastic time for all. Went there with family of 7. The waitress was right on time and chef was funny...(Bryan). The reviews on this site almost stopped us from going and that would have been terrible. All of us laughed and left there completely happy & fun. Go enjoy this place. Glad we finally made it to Kaze instead of the usual Raleigh spot. Try it out, you will not be dissappointed.

FUN and DELICIOUS
Great food that's very fresh. Well spaced courses, with a terrific variety from item to item. Fun atmosphere. Just looking around the room, you see all the smiles. Courteous staff that's quick to help with menu suggestions. You get your money's worth: it's a lot of food, so arrive hungry.

After living in North Carolina for a few years I've been trying to find a sushi place similar to the one back home. I tried Kaze and was happy to see that it was very close to the place I was used to. My husband and I would go about twice a month, and while the service was never exceptional, the sushi made it worth while. Unfortunately the last time we went my husband got a very serious case of food poisoning. I'm still waiting on the lab results to find out which specific illness he got, but it took him out of work and resulted in a costly trip to the doctor. I'm very disappointed, but it looks like we will have to find another place to go to. I'm scared to go back.

Try the new Japanese Steakhouse in Garner called Fuji. It's next to Lowes hardward off of Hwy 70. It is AWESOME!!!

Had a party of 8 and I paid for everyone. When the bill came the waitress did not give an itemized bill only a total amount with an area to add tip and sign. I asked the waiter if I could see an itemized bill. Big Shocker...tip was included. I talked to manager about this over sight. She did not see it being an issues nor did see she anything wrong with this. It was very clear she has no training with customer service. It's the point! Good Luck, this restaurant will need it. I have had better food at fast food japanese places.

My family and I look forward to eating at a rest. like Kaze. Unfortunately, we have noticed the quality going down at this place. The servings are decreasing in quantity, the cooking is inconsistant, the wait staff is inconsistant. We are disappointed in what Kaze has turned into. I never see the manager making the rounds ensuring the customers are satisfied with thier dining experience. I look to Kanki as the benchmark for Japanese cuisine. Don't waste your money on this place. You work too hard to throw it away here.

I totally agree! We used to eat here once a week, and I am scared to go back after reading all the reviews!
Kobe in Clayton is an awesome place, and to me the food is better than Kanki!

Wow! All these negative reviews and i couldn't agree more! I used to work at Kaze, but i'm glad i left! Here we go...

Jesus christ, i can't believe i allowed ya'll to f*ck me over so bad! I gave my days, weekends, sweat, blood and even Christmas to entertain my customers and all ya'll ever did was treated me like garbage! Do you think that just because i'm brown that i'm willing to take whatever bullsh!t you throw at me? I did so much, too much! Notice that i made it cool to introduce ourselves at the tables when everyone was acting robotic. I helped trained the chefs you have there now. I just can't believe that you wanted to throw them up front after 2 weeks? wow! It took me 9 months of solid cooking before i was thrown upfront, but wow. As a chef, I pushed everyone to step their game up and all i get in return is pay reductions and termination gossip?

I just started working at a new place that pays me 3 times the amount ya'll ever did while treating me like a decent human being. I ran into one of my regulars from Kaze who said that they left for a different spot because the new chefs were horrible (in their own words of course). They were so happy to see me and enjoyed the show, conversation and food as usual. I know it doesn't matter much to you, but this family use to go there on a daily basis.

TAKE A LOOK AT THESE REVIEWS! Do you NOT care that the life of your company solely relies on it's location and nothing else? Everyone's talking sh!t about Kaze! It's sad, almost.. because you had the opportunity to do so much better but it will never happen for as long as you are stuck in your ways. Ask yourself, are you truly proud of your company? Is this the type of enterprise you want to stand for and represent? Are these the code of ethics and moral values you want to teach your children? Wake up man!

Best wishes to you and yours,
- a good samaritan

My husband and I are new to the area and decided to give Kaze a shot. We waited for 20 minutes for the server to bring us water, and after asking the server 4 (yes, FOUR) times for a beer, my husband walked to the bar and got it himself. When I asked for a California roll appetizer, the server brought it to me after my meal was finished. It was raw, pink fish--definitely not a California roll. Though our meal was a complete disaster at this point, I still politely asked the server to correct my order. She actually SIGHED at me and returned with the rolls 10 minutes later (around the time we left).

My husband and I were both so aggravated with our experience (seriously, who wants to spend $50 at a place that treats you so poorly?) that he asked to speak to the manager. The manager was at the bar--drinking!--and watching a basketball game. He kept watching the game the entire time my husband talked and told him that what he was saying couldn't be true because he had hired our server recently from Kanki. He was not only unapologetic, but only fueled our frustration. My husband and I left feeling angry and disrespected. This was without a doubt the worst dining experience I've ever had. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

I worked for Kaze for a very short time, but even in the few days I was there, it was disgusting! The back was filthy, and the management is completely clueless. I have worked in a few restaurants before and I LOVE being a waitress. However, working here was an absolute nightmare. They don't tell the staff until the second day that your first day is volunteer (i.e. you are not going to get paid), and when they were putting in my training pay (which is minimum wage until you are on the floor and earning tips), they put it BELOW minimum wage. When I pointed that out to the manager on duty, he said "Well, that's what the owner has told me to do, so you're not getting any more" The owner was a sexist pig, and consistently flirts and hits on the female waitstaff, even if they are under-age. I do not believe that there was one time I saw that man sober, in the few days I was there! I was 'let go' because I repeatedly asked for my tax forms so I could fill them out. Apparently there, you aren't supposed to do that. I was told that I didn't have to report my tips (which is tax evasion/tax fraud), and they had zero closing duties other than take out the trash. No mopping of the back area, no washing of dishes, nothing for cleaning and sanitizing surfaces that the waitstaff prepares the soups and salads on. As I said, it was filthy.

I never got a chance to eat there, but after seeing how the food was kept (rice cooker had burnt rice that was left there all day, while they continued to remove and serve rice), I refused. I was treated horribly for attempting to follow the law, and eventually let go for pointing out various things in the FLSA (Fair Labor Standard Act) that they were violating.

Also, I observed a few times the manager on duty and a few employees disappearing into the office. One time, I happened to walk by for a cigarette break and smelled marijuana, and heard snorting. I understand that a lot of people in the food service industry do drugs (I don't), but most of them at least have the common sense to not do it when they are on the clock.

I would not recommend eating there, staff is treated as sub-standard humans, the kitchen and wait station are disgusting, owner is a sexist pig. DO NOT EAT THERE!!

We used to go to Kaze every week, however over the past few months the quality has just gone down and we stopped going. They switched to really crummy chopsticks and the sushi just wasn't as good. Our favorite sushi chef left and then we just did not have the same experience. It's sad and disappointing that we lost an experience that we truly did enjoy.
