It's a great value! But the restrooms are atrocious! Some humans are so nasty, and you would think that the sheer volume of patrons would enable management to hire a restroom attendant.
This place is awesome, except for the bulk of the patrons. Lots of cornrows and gold teeth, and everyone smells like cocoa butter and catfish. I made the mistake of taking my two blond teenage twin daughters there, and damn near whipped those monkeys into a frenzy. FIVE STARS.
Zoom in on the photo above for added hilarity. I assure you this is not the typical crowd, but who knows. Maybe this was the day Star Trek opened or something.
we just went there to see "princess and the frog". the staff was very polite, the bathrooms were clean, it wasn't crowded at all (we went on a friday night), the movie and sound were great and I just found out that on tuesdays they have popcorn and drinks for 1$. i think it's a great value overall. it's really no different than any other movie theater, except for the awesome price. i would highly recommend it.
I absolutely agree. It's a great value, but you would think with the sheer volume of patrons created by the low cost, they would think to hire a full time restroom attendant. Some humans are so nasty! I avoid their restroom if I can, and only use their facilities in an "emergency."
I love this theater.
Took my mother to see Up In The Air there. The help was very friendly and polite...the bathrooms were clean, the theater was clean, everyone was quiet & watched the movie. It is a little out of the way, but, I'll be back...great theater...great help & great patrons.
For the racist one up top talking about the two teenage blonde daughters. You are so ignorant and in the dark ages. What makes you think everyone cares about and wants blonde anyway. I am a black girl size 0 with green eyes and drive the men in your race crazy everyday I walk out my door. They run in a freensy everyday, fuck off get a life!!!!!
Of course, the deal is the price of the ticket... Where else can you go and get a family of five into a movie theater for the price of $7.50 compared to $45.00.... Now for the service, I think it is just as comparable as any other movie theater in the area. The staff members are always polite and I have not yet had anyone perform in a negative way towards me.... In my opinion to make this a five star rated theater, I suggest they try to keep up on the cleanliness of the bathrooms.. Maybe if they were to take 2 minutes and mop the floor down once an hour or so, the floors wouldn't be sticky and the bathrooms wouldn't be that bad....
So overall its not a bad entertainment area except for the bathroom experience!
I think that it is a nice theater. I take my family their all the time. It saves us money and the service is just as good as any other theater but the price is unbeatable. We have paid $10 a ticket to see a movie at pricey theaters and the bathrooms were nasty. The bathrooms at Blue Ridge 14 are decent and if there was a problem the staff is always around to help with any need. It is very divesified even with its staff. They hire people from all walks of life with abilities, disabilities, and challenges. I admire that.
Lord knows there is no other place in Raleigh that you can entertain yourself for a buck fifty, but you do tend to get the ghetto crowds. So don't be surprised if some 2 sandwich eatin skeezer jumps out of her seat and starts screaming greasy jibber-jabber at the screen, or you have to deal with Ray-Ray texting his homies about his spinning rims and gold teeth.
A dump but where else can you pay $1.50 for a movie? Worth it if you miss a movie in one of the real theaters or just aren't sure you want to pay 10 bucks to see it. I go a few times a year
I love this theater I go about every saturday and I love it the prices are excellent and the theater is decent. The mens bathroom is disgusting and some don't even wash there hand......but overall I love it. Parents need to leave there talkitive kids home common sense tells you that there not going to be able to sit in a theater for that long and not get restless. For the adults some act like children some loose there children some even fight with other while the movies going on and argue. The adults think the kids need to grow up well first they need to check themselves. But, overal i give it a 5 star
It is pretty good, and it is the only cheap one in the area, but if there is another one, please e-mail me and tell me. Even if it is $3, etc. Not trying to be funny !
I do live over a half hour away, so maybe there is one closer. But yes, we are lucky. I have gone during the day and do not remember a Rat or BRAT ! But I also expect teenagers to be loud, and small children to occasionally talk. I have a 2 year old. Unfortunately we had to stop taking her, but now because the movies are "grown up". We will be taking her to the nice animated, etc. when she settles down a little by 3 or so.
I LOVE movies, love to critique. So this place allows me to do more of it !
Awesome Cinema, Nothing can beat it. $1.50 for a movie! its a community service. Thanks Blue Ridge. God Bless :)
You have got to be kidding - honest presidents always gets the blame for dishonest presidents. Recession was coming all along before our previous president left. Thank goodness for theaters that have a view for the people like our president. I go to this theater because it recognizes the times. It may be helpful if we helped keep the theater clean when we visit. My hats off to the theater for giving the community a place of sound entertainment. I haven't seen any rats either and I have been to worse theaters.
Good comment on the restrooms. The ultimate responsibility for cleanliness lies on each of us.
VULGAR TEENS, RATS, FILTH, AND LONG LINES!!
Last month i was watching a movie and from under my seat a rat the size of a cat almost ran up my leg! I quickly jumped before it could devour my soul and it ran away. And the rowdy teens and their frightening language, oohh jeezz
ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?
ITS A $1.50 THEATRE!!!!
there are 5 million people living in this region %85 making under 25k a year so naturally being humans and Americans we enjoy being entertained and being recipients of the 2000 - 2008 reign of the worst president this country has ever seen and thus a destroyed economy, we would prefer not to pay $9.50 for the SAME EXACT THING!!. So maybe the Carmike 14 might be a little more populated than the other theatre being 650% higher admission per person, that means a more widely varied array of people, and if you cannot stand them rid yourself and go to the carmike in wakefield and spend over $50 for a show and popcorn with the kids. As for as the cleanliness of the place. If you managed a $1.50 theatre would you stock your employ with a well surplus of janitors? well if you want to see money again you probably wouldn't. It's a $1.50 for a movie. take it as it is!.
FIVE STARS FOR CARMIKE 14!!!!

Bamboozled
What a bunch of indirect raciest remarks,,, the only direct remark was the monkey frenzy!!!!!! What an Asshole!!!!! And I'm sure your 2 blond daughters are either getting boned by the corn roll wearing gold teeth wearing or in the very near future will be......
veronica a.
I agree 100 percent with what said. The majority of the people I have seen in there where white and if someone smelled like catfish it was probably some stank ass chick.

Butchie...Have you noticed that the only one who agrees with your ignorance is you!! I just hope your daughters overcome their exposure to your racism. The only thing you're doing for them is making them curious.
