My fiancee and I have been going to this theater for ages, three years or so- and recently while watching the movie "The Forbidden Kingdom" we noticed a rat scurry across the aisle way. I believed I was the only one to see it, but I looked at her, and she had asked me if I saw it, as well. I looked around the theater for a few minutes, and no one else had reacted strangely- so seeing these creatures might be uncommon, but we're certain that there is at least one rat in the theater.
it is a great place to go and watch movies i try to go about 2 times a week i like it there i have nothing bad to say about it and for all the people talking about rats i have been going there for almost a year and i have never ever seen a rat
My family and I have been to the theater a couple of times and I've gone by myself, I've never seen a rodent or a messy bathroom or anything else out of the ordinary. The experience was fabulous for $1.50. The children really loved Alvin and the Chickmunks....they danced in the aisle and just had a blast. My husband also enjoyed the experience and he doesn't like movie theaters. We will be going back for sure because we had so much fun.
Its great for the price. And if you are into saving money as much as I am.. go frequent the K-mart right next to it. Its a great place to purchase snacks. Of course... the movie popcorn is untouchable! there is not substitute :O)!
I have had mixed experiences through the years but overall I think its a good theatre.
And I must leave a comment for the guy who talked about a rat crawling up his shirt... Its more believable if they are on the floor.. but that was a bit too far fetched. Sorry to offend. but not very believable
I was involved in a strong arm robbery leaving a theater in this building. They need security!!! Lots of suspicious people come and spend $1.50 and spend the day. Thug grabbed my purse from behind and dragged me down the aisle of the theater. I will never to back!
i dont noe wat these people are talking about when they say they have seen rats....ive been there lots of times and never have i once seen a rat..but id say that it is a good theater. not as good as most but what do you expect for 1.50.
Great theater! I'm a regular here with my friends and family. The temperature is always great and the popcorn is always fresh with yummy hot butter. I've only been to one movie where "ghetto" people were somewhat annoying.. but that can happen in the more expensive theaters also. I've actually seen someone get arrested during a Northills movie!
I'll keep coming back, awesome place :)
OK this guy either owns or works for raleighwood and is just trying to steal customers from blueridge
A magnet for all the low life dirtbags in Raleigh, noisy teenagers, make believe college students and getto, talking throughout the movie, cell phone calls and texting is the norm and the entire place is filthy. The picture and sound quality are awful. Shooting and robberies in the parking lot, wear a flack jacket. You get what you pay for, pay nothing and you get nothing. Cheap? go to this theater and it says more about you than the theater. Rats in the theaters? rats are upscale clientel for this place. One visit was enough to make us go home to take a shower.

okay, I agree ghetto was a little strong. How about Trailer Trash? I took my son and stood in line for about 15 minutes, before I decided I didnot like the looks of the people going in or the mouth on some of the "kids" there. We left and will not be back
We went here not expecting the theater to be that great but to be worth a buck fifty. Honestly we were very, very surprised. This theater is nicer than a lot of theaters I have been too and definately cheaper. I'm not sure what people were talking about in these reviews about it being dirty or dangerous. I read those and decided to see for myself. To my surprise they even had what looked like a security guard. Quite honestly that makes this theater much safer than any playground or fast food place you can take your kids too. It was much cleaner for that matter. The quality of the sound and everything was awesome too.
I'd say at least before falling for bad reviews spend the dollar fifty to see for yourself. I've seen several movies there now and have plans for many in the future.
Personally, I like the theater. It's cheap and they play good movies. Is it the cleanest? No. Rats? Haven't seen 'em. Contrary to what I have read, the popcorn IS fresh (seen it popping), and the snack prices aren't too bad. But just don't go on a weekend night. All the folks with no home trainin' come out, talking on their cell phones, being loud, and taking their young children to rated R movies that they have no business taking them to. Other than that, who can beat a buck fifty?!
I think its a great theater. Not only is it very family oriented but the people who work there are generally quite friendly. Some of these claims about the terrible people and the rats, in my opinon are totally false. Maybe there are a few rats there - not like I look at the floor during the movie - but I also love the location. The K-mart near by although not the most amazing place, you can buy candy n' such for a cheap price. But its also near Grand Slam USA, which is a great, fun thing to do before or after a movie. All around great theater. :D
My wife and I have gone to the Blue ridge every week for months. 6 weeks ago something was in the seat with me and crawled in my shirt. We were watching a scary movie.. so I thought it must be my imagination. We went to the movies 3 weeks ago. The rats were every where!!( now I know what was in my seat)!! I told the managers. Several women were screaming in terror. The rats were so loud (crunching popcorn) I couldn't concentrate on the screen. They have known about the problem for many weeks(Manager told me) and haven't taken care of the problems. I also spent a night with food poisoning after going there throwing up popcorn.
Don't go it isn't worth the savings. We were very loyal customers, now we are disgusted at the apathy and rodents
I've never seen rats in the movie theater and I have seen bathrooms at fast food restuarants and nice fancy stores also run out of soap and other supplies on busy days but you don't hear as many complaints about them. I think it also matters how you treat the employees. If someone runs up yelling instead of acting nice about the matter they will not help you. I wouldn't.
Can you say rats and more rats!! My family decided to go and watch a movie at Blue Ridge on today. But instead of watching the movie, we had to watch our feet! We saw a whole family of rats! They were nice and fat…..so we know that the rats are eating popcorn. I told an employee that rats were taking over the theater and the only thing he stated was “ok I will tell some one”. I advised the manager that no hand soap was in the bathroom and the only thing he could say was “we been kind of busy on today”! This place was filthy! I will advise the health department of this facility! But mean while I will pay $8 bucks to see a movie.
