Great theatre! Recently remodeled with stadium seating. ONLY $1.50!!! Great thing to do with the kids doing the day. Great option when you dont know how good a movie is you can see it for 1.50 and will not feel like you wasted your money if its bad. They also give refills on popcorn and soda which is great!!! I take my kids and get one combo and just keep going back and getting refills. Its a great money saver during these harsh economic time. Thank You Blue Ridge!! Only complaint is the restrooms they are almost always nasty and smelly so we try not to use the restroom while at the theatre :)
Had a great experience at this theater. Used to goto the $2 theater in Smithfield, but even fifty cents cheaper it is a much better theater. I went in the evening for both visits so far, and I saw none of the rudenesss or danger others seem to. Picture and sound quality just as good as a full priced theater, unless you're used to IMAX. Any theater is going to have teenagers and kids, most movies will have at least one person use a cell phone, so I think it would be unfair to judge the theater itself on that. The ushers were friendly, our movie was easy to find in the place, and (of course) it's only $1.50! Concessions are esxpensive, but they gotta make money somewhere. All in all, I was very pleased with this place.
it's too good
d best place to go in raleigh. they r doing community service by offering movies at 1.5$. Kudos to them ...
The theater shouldn't be blamed for the unsupervised teenagers running around. I wonder if this person complained so they'd be removed during the movie.
I paid $8.75 at another theatre and had at least 15 of these people. They're at every theatre if you go at the wrong time. But I agree, these people are very annoying.
Loud & obnoxious patrons. I remember watching a movie and there was a kid who kept making phone calls several rows back. There are just too many unsupervised teenagers running amok there with no ushers to instill a sense of order to the movie-viewing experience.
Yes, the price is awesome, and the movie selection doesn't suck. However, the place is filthy and feel dangerous. Two nights ago, I opened the door to find something red, wet, and not sticky on my hands. I showed it to my boyfriend and joked "hey, it's blood!" He ran me to a bathroom immediately - it was blood but I just didn't want to accept it. The service staff are friendly, but the patronage is way below par. It's hard for a staff to keep cleaning up when people are going in with bleeding hands and not bothering to care where they touch. I just wish people would embrace the opportunity for cheap movies without making the place reminiscent of a crime scene.
I don't really care about the service, because the price is so cheap. I admit that they make it up at with concession, and parking can be hectic if not impossible. I wouldn't advise going late though; I've seen my share of busted windows and stolen stereos. Regardless, As a college student, it's entertainment that I can afford.
YUCK, yuck, yuck! Really!!! The place is NOT very clean, but that's what you are going to get for the price!! I don't dare eat their popcorn because it ALWAYS tastes old and if you went there, you would not want to eat their foods. Yuck! The movies are descent but not good picture quality nor sound quality, but for the price, it's still a good deal.
I would NEVER go after 5:00pm with children!! I think it may be even dangerous! I think the people get ruder as the day progresses. The employees are NOT very nice and it seems like they hate their jobs. Do what I do, just ignore them!
This place could be a much better place if they really cared.
I give it ONE star.
I agree with Fooddie, IF your not sure about a movie and you don't want to spent a full price on it. Is also good for if you missed a movie or want to watch a movie twice. $1.50 can't beat that price, that cheaper then how much candy cost in the movies. They need more places like this
I would agree that this place is not kid friendly after 6PM. I do enjoy going here and it's great way to get out of the house and not spend a lot of money, but you get what you pay for: rude-people talking, cell phones going off, small theaters, expensive but horrible popcorn, and intolerable workers.
If you can handle that it is a fun place to go.
